Basic Statistical Methods & Data Presentation
About This Course
This course focuses on preliminary testing on data prior to further analysis by using basic statistical methods. Contents include data for normal distribution, detection of outliers, mean comparisons and relationship between 2 variables. Knowledge and skills essentials for data presentation will also be covered.
After completing this course participants should be able to:
- Analyze and interpret descriptive statistics of data.
- Assess normality of data and detection of outliers
- Apply steps of hypothesis testing
- Perform inferential statistical analysis for comparing means of 2 groups using Microsoft Excel
- Understand what are the important factors to be considered for a scientific presentation
- Draw different types of chart in MS Excel
- Add error bars and statistical inferences in charts
- Write succinct title, legends and labels, footnotes with relevant information.
