About This Course
At the end of the 3-day module, participants will be able to:
• Discuss and understand the need for equity analysis and the concept of value
• Explain the principles of strategic analysis of an industry, including barriers to entry, and the relation between industry concentration and capacity
• Explain the rationale for using price multiples to value equity, how it relates to fundamentals
• Understand the use of asset-based valuation model and its use in estimating value
• Explain how a bond can be priced using the yield to maturity or a series of spot rates to discount the cash flows
• Explain the securitisation process and discuss the benefits of securitisation
• Understand the different characteristics and types of options
• Discuss how the prices of a European call and a European put are related
• Explain how the Binomial Option Pricing Model can be used to price an option
• Discuss the assumptions of the Black-Scholes option pricing model and explain the significance of the implied volatility of an option
• Explain how delta and gamma can be used in hedging using options
• Discuss how different types of risks can be hedged by forward and futures contracts, options and swaps
• Understand the concepts of risk aversion, utility, and the efficient frontier
• Understand the process of finding the optimal portfolio for an investor with a known risk-aversion
• Differentiate between traditional and alternative investments
• Distinguish types of hedge funds and various strategies used
• Define Private Equity and assess stages of the Venture Capital process
• Understand real estate investing and investing in Real Estate Investment Trust (REITS)
• Understand cryptocurrency as an investment opportunity

Entry Requirements
No prerequisites, but participants are strongly encouraged to go through the assigned pre-reading materials and videos, especially if one does not have any prior learning or working knowledge in the subject matter of this Module.
If the participant intends to register for the Chartered Fintech Professional examination following the completion of this training course, do note that an undergraduate degree from a recognised university or equivalent professional qualification is a compulsory enrolment requirement.
