What You'll Learn
With the advent of technology, businesses adopted even more digital solutions than ever before. Organisations also became more comfortable with changing, merging, or updating their digital solutions based on their needs, so technology in the workplace started to change more frequently. It is obvious that today’s employees need more than digital literacy. A 2020 Accenture study however showed that only around 14% of global companies are digitally mature. Many companies still have work to do on their digital progress. Employees need digital fluency - the ability to understand themselves and technology well enough to easily adapt and switch between platforms, understand which online tools will help them, and apply lessons learned in one platform to the other platforms they use. Those who are "fluent" digitally don’t just comprehend it, they are able to use it on the fly, adapt it to current situation at work, and use it in creative ways when they need something. This course takes a look at what digital fluency means to the individuals and in the workplace, where to find it, and how companies and their HR can encourage it throughout an organisation.
