About This Course
i.	Explain concepts and fundamentals of environmental operations and technology to apply in the fields of waste management, environmental cleaning, and pest management.
ii.	Apply practical knowledge for working proficiently in waste management, including solid waste handling, recycling, treatment and disposal.
iii.	Outline appropriate standards and practices in the workplace based on the varying level of sanitation and hygiene.
iv.	Organise and analyse operations databases for analysis using software.
v.	Administer knowledge for effective management and allocation of key resources, including human skills and financial resources.
vi.	Employ communication skills for effective communication with staff and clients, and for environmental outreach with the public.
vii.	Examine natural processes of the Earth, ecosystems and environmental challenges, and the need to have sustainable development.
viii.	Demonstrate the ability to apply practical knowledge on assessment tools and system to manage and access the environment to quantify environment standards.
ix.	Administer environmental law, policies and standards for the management of the environment and audits.
x.	Translate knowledge in risk assessment and workplace safety practices into development of Workplace Safety and Health management plans and programmes.
xi.	Recommend suitable hazardous waste storage, transport, treatment and disposal methods based on its generation and characteristics.
xii.	Develop critical thinking, analytical reasoning, information literacy, teamwork, leadership skills and communication skills to solve problems.

Entry Requirements
3 GCE ‘O’ level with English language (grade 1-7), Science (grade 1-6) and 1 relevant subject (grade 1-6)

For applicants who do not meet the MER, the polytechnics will consider discretionary entry based on the structured process for discretionary entry to CET diploma programmes.
