Biorisk Management Level 4

Biorisk is a term used to refer to both biosafety and biosecurity, two essential components of a Biorisk Management System. This workshop on Biorisk Management, aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to perform the basic process of hazard/threat identification, risk assessment and implementation of suitable mitigation measures to address biosafety and biosecurity. The workshop is essential for all levels and categories of staff working in facilities that handle biological hazards whether they are infectious microorganisms, toxins, or other biohazardous materials.
Participants will further understand international and national regulations and best practices in the industry, including management of emergency situations. The workshop also covers performance monitoring to assess the effectiveness of the Biorisk Management System through inspections and audits and incident reporting systems.

Participants will be able to inculcate a safety culture in the workplace that can help to prevent accidents, minimize the potential for laboratory-acquired infections, and maintain compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
