Understanding Law and Technology
About This Course
At the end of the 2-day module, participants will be able to:
• Define what law is
• Define the three ways in which law interacts with technology
• Understand the difference between the three themes, i.e., legal technology (LegalTech), technology law, and impact of technology on law
• Understand the basic features of Singapore’s legal system, including: constitutional structure and the process of making law; the common law system and the relationship between case law and statute; the hierarchy of courts and the doctrine of binding precedent; and the role of Organs of State in making, administering, and enforcing law
• Understand how the legal system and fundamental legal principles constrain or enable legal innovation and the adoption of technology
What You'll Learn
This module seeks to equip participants with the knowledge of current areas of existing law that are being heavily impacted by technological developments and the ability to navigate such changes.
Entry Requirements
Participant should have at least:
• a Bachelor's Degree or
• Diploma with at least 3 years working experience
