About This Course
1. Promote the application of self-care strategies and enhance resilience with developing an action plan for self-care and manage stress.
2. Provide support and assistance to clients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) according to individual care plans and supervising care staff during the provision of care.
3. Apply conduct, ethics, values, and relevant legislation to uphold the integrity and reputation of the organisation and the profession in a social and/or care settings.
4. Identify and support senior clients and their families in their care needs so that they can be referred to appropriate community -based support services
5. Translate client’s needs and organizational parameters into the implementation and modification of individual care plan to meet client’s needs
6. Review and provide directions pertaining to clients’ safety and well-being during activities.
7. Guide peers and other professionals in the delivery of interventions to achieve the skills competencies and autonomy in their professional roles.
8. Execute responsibilities as prescribed in emergency response and crisis management plans; and to work with external and internal stakeholders to conduct periodic reviews and ensure emergency preparedness

Entry Requirements
1. Obtained at least a C6 pass at GCE N-Level in any 1 subject or equivalent; OR
2. Graduate of HMI Institute’s WSQ HIGHER CERTIFICATE IN HEALTHCARE / WSQ HIGHER CERTIFICATE IN HEALTHCARE SUPPORT (any tracks/specialisations)
Applicants will be assessed by the Institute on their suitability for the course prior to enrolment. Academic qualifications are but one of several assessment criteria.
