About This Course
This course is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of design thinking and its vital role in organizational problem-solving and innovation. Students will begin by defining design thinking and delving into its core principles. Through a systematic approach, they will grasp the significance of integrating design thinking into organizational practices for addressing problems and driving innovation. Additionally, students will identify and describe essential traits of a design thinker and explore diverse prototyping methodologies, particularly in the context of sustainability. The course emphasizes discovering pathways to apply innovative design thinking for sustainability purposes and leveraging these methodologies to identify sustainability-focused design challenges and cultivate innovative solutions within organizations. Further, students will learn to incorporate strategic initiatives for integrating design thinking methodologies to foster innovation for sustainability. They will gain practical skills to support the creation and implementation of sustainable design concepts by communicating a design thinking plan towards innovative sustainability. Additionally, the course focuses on leveraging metrics to establish benchmarks and assess the sustainability-oriented impacts of design concepts and solutions. Finally, students will develop effective communication skills to present and articulate their design outcomes and processes for innovative sustainability.

Entry Requirements
