About This Course
Republic Polytechnic’s Façade inspection with Unmanned Aircraft (UA) course is recommended for existing or potential unmanned aircraft pilots, professional engineers, facilities personnel, or anyone who intend to operate an unmanned aircraft for facade inspection. The purpose of this course is to provide applicants with theoretical knowledge in accordance with Building and Construction Authority (BCA) TR78-1/2, practical knowledge and competency to plan and execute façade inspection with UA, perform defects analysis and operate a basic tethered Unmanned Aircraft (UA) system.

1. Theory:
• Identify issues related to Facade falling hazards, responsibility, periodic facade inspection and maintenance.
• Identify Types of facades in Singapore
• Identify Common Problems of Façade
• Understand BCA Periodic Facade Inspection (PFI) Requirements based on TR78-1 & TR78-2:
Qualifications and general duties of Competent Person (CP) and Façade Inspector (FI)
Scope of building façade inspection
Building façade inspection process
Personal Data protection
Recommended Practices for Personal Data Protection (PDP)
Risk Assessment
Building Façade Inspection report
Artificial Intelligence (AI) Capabilities for façade inspection, anonymization and corresponding passing criteria

2. Practical exercises:
• Understand the workflow for Building Inspection with UA
