About This Course
This course explores the fundamentals of Project Management, equipping learners with skills and competencies necessary for effective project execution. By delving into various aspects such as project organisation structures, stakeholder management, scope, quality, schedule, risk, cost, and contract management, learners will develop the ability to efficiently solve an array of project-related challenges. Learners will explore the role of a Project Manager and gain proficiency in project closure. Additionally, this course addresses conflict resolution strategies and human resource management principles, emphasising the importance of team collaboration and strong leadership, allowing learners to confidently embrace new roles and challenges.

1. Distinguish the strengths and weaknesses of three basic forms of organisational structure (Functional, Projectised and Matrix) and their implications for managing projects.
2. Explain the importance of identifying critical project stakeholders and managing them within the context of project development.
3. Identify the elements of the Project Management (PM) life cycle, including plan, control, and organise and allocate resources effectively.
4. Comprehend and become familiar with the use of basic tools and techniques to plan, organise, and manage a project.
5. Apply common forms of cost estimation for project work, including ballpark estimates and definitive estimates.
6. Critically evaluate the characteristics of effective project teams and understand why teams fail.

Entry Requirements
While there is no specific admission requirement, this course is recommended for learners employed in Project Management-related roles or have previous work experience in Project Management-related roles, so as to better benefit from and appreciate the course contents. The micro-credential courses offered in the FlexiMasters in Project Management programme are to be taken sequentially, beginning from “Fundamentals of Project Management”.
