About This Course
The Healthcare market in Singapore is developing a network of community care system to meet the changing and varied needs of the population, especially the seniors living in a rapidly ageing society. In tandem, a new healthcare need is emerging in the community care sector to help seniors live well and age gracefully at home and in the community.
This course will enable the participants to assist therapists in planning and providing group therapy interventions as well performing, monitoring individualised exercise therapy and group facilitation. Participants will learn how to support therapists in delivering targeted interventions in a group setting and how to monitor and adjust individual exercise therapy plans.
What You'll Learn
The participants are able to assist therapist in planning and conduct structured activities/ group therapy session. Under the supervision of the therapist, they learn to apply group dynamics to engage clients with relevant group facilitation method, and to monitor group therapy outcomes.
Entry Requirements
• Obtained at least a C6 pass at N-Level in any 1 subject or equivalent; OR
• Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Numeracy) and Level 3 (Writing)
• Certified medically fit for healthcare training and work by approved clinics
• Must clear HMI Institute’s admissions screening process for the course/programme
Applicants will be assessed by the Institute on their suitability for the course prior to enrolment. Academic qualifications are but one of several assessment criteria.
