About This Course
The aim of the Diploma in ICT Systems, Services & Support (DICT-SSS) is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage, monitor and implement first level helpdesk support for the IT infrastructure department of an organisation.
What You'll Learn
a. set-up, configure, verify, secure, and deploy networks and operating systems;
b. design, install, and configure wired and wireless networks with client administration;
c. apply fundamental service principles and practices to manage and deliver high quality IT services support through structured on-the-job training;
d. apply the concepts and principles of systems security to configure, administer, monitor and respond to incidents over a network;
e. apply the knowledge and skills of emerging network and system technologies to manage enterprise-level network infrastructure.
The course incorporates specific new key areas of technological advancements like Cloud and AI, as well as the evolving IT ecosystem towards agile Systems and Operations (SysOps) or Development and Operations (DevOps).
Entry Requirements
The minimum entry requirements for the academic CET course are as follows:
GCE ‘O’ Level
3 relevant ‘O’ Level passes and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Higher Nitec
GPA ≥2.0 OR
GPA ≥1.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Nitec
GPA ≥3.5 OR
GPA ≥3.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Higher Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥2.0 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
Nitec in Technology/Services
GPA ≥3.5 and 1 year of relevant working experience
OR
WSQ Qualification
Relevant WSQ Qualification with 1 year of relevant working experience and WSQ Workplace Literary Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6) AND Workplace Numeracy Statement of Attainment (SOA) (Level 6)
OR
Without relevant academic qualifications
At least 2 years of relevant working experience
