Executive Leadership Series: Nurturing a Centre-wide Learning Community (NCLC)
About This Course
This workshop builds on the Executive Leadership Series: Capacity Building (CAPB) and focuses on building systems and structures for creating a culture that will sustain the learning of the children, teachers and organisation. Topics discussed will include reflective practice, generative conversations, teacher leadership, teacher collective efficacy and coherence in planning. Participants will also look at the QRS for indicators supportive of nurturing a centre-wide learning culture and develop plans to reach higher standards for 2 indicators.
This workshop is the second of two courses designed for Senior Centre Principals and above on capacity building of centres/schools. The first workshop is “Executive Leadership Series: Capacity Building (CAPB)”.
What You'll Learn
1. Picture what a centre looks like when it has established a centre-wide learning culture
2. Understand the ecology and practices needed to support the learning of teachers
3. Be aware of their own metacognition
4. Facilitate reflection and generative conversations with their staff
5. Understand the importance of culture and what it takes to nurture a centre-wide learning community.
6. Understand the importance of coherence in decisions and actions in developing an organisation
7. Develop a plan to nurture a centre-wide learning community at their respective centres/clusters
Entry Requirements
1) Be ECDA-certified as L2 teacher
2) Currently employed in a childcare registered or licensed with ECDA
3) Have completed pre-req course LDPM and first course CAPB
