About This Course

At the end of the course, the student should have developed:

1. a reasonable understanding of international economic law rules related to China, including trade regime (e.g., multilateral and regional trade agreements);
2. an understanding of the major regulatory issues in China and international economic law;
3. an understanding of how to conduct research in the area of China and international economic law; and
4. a reasonable proficiency in advising on how certain core aspects of these legal rules apply to practice.

What You'll Learn

This course is offered under the Faculty of Law's Graduate Coursework Programmes in Corporate & Financial Services Law.

This course will provide a broad introduction to international economic law related to China, including detailed study of a few core areas and the provision of guidance for participants to pursue research on a topic of their choice. Major topics to be covered include: (i) trade in goods; (ii) trade in services; (iii) trade in intellectual property; (iv) investment; (v) dispute settlement; and (vi) the future of China and international economic law.
