About This Course
Through the Certificate in Preschool Mother Tongue Language Teaching – Tamil (CPMTL-T), educators will:
a) develop spoken language skills to communicate effectively in the Tamil Language;
b) enhance their knowledge about the Tamil culture, heritage and history in Singapore.
c) acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about the learning of the Tamil Language for young children;
d) learn to use the Nurturing Early Learners Framework for Mother Tongue Languages effectively for developing children’s Tamil language literacy; and
e) enhance their skills in integrating music, dance, drama and children’s literature in teaching of the Tamil language, culture and heritage to young children.

Entry Requirements
(a) Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) or acceptable equivalent and minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Tamil or a Tamil Language Acceptable Alternative (TLAA);
(b) Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ACECCE) including minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Tamil or TLAA and one year of work experience;
(c) Higher Nitec in Early Childhood Education including minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Tamil or TLAA and one year of work experience.
