About This Course
Through the Certificate in Preschool Mother Tongue Language Teaching – Malay (CPMTL-M), educators will:
a) develop spoken language skills to communicate effectively in the Malay Language;
b) enhance their knowledge about the Malay culture, heritage and history in Singapore.
c) acquire theoretical and practical knowledge about the learning of the Malay Language for young children;
d) learn to use the Nurturing Early Learners Framework for Mother Tongue Languages effectively for developing children’s Malay language literacy; and
e) enhance their skills in integrating music, dance, drama and children’s literature in teaching of the Malay language, culture and heritage to young children.

Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements:
a) Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education - Teaching (DECCE-T) or acceptable equivalent and minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Malay or a Malay Language Acceptable Alternative (MLAA) ;
b) Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ACECCE) including minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Malay or a MLAA and one year of work experience;
c) Higher Nitec in Early Childhood Education including minimum B4 grade in GCE O-level Malay or a MLAA and one year of work experience.
