About This Course
The course aims to facilitate the transition of experienced seafarers from their on board work exposure to onshore jobs with the maritime sector. It will also facilitate mid-career switches to the maritime sector for those who have been working in relevant fields such as mechanical engineering.
At the end of the course, the students will acquire a sound understanding of the roles and responsibilities of maritime superintendent to ensure safe, economical, and efficient operation of the ships and offshore vessels. They will also be able to manage and operate vessels in accordance with organisation policies, operating procedure, and management systems.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
• Diploma from one of the Polytechnics (SP, NP, TP, NYP or RP) in Singapore;
• Degree from one of the Universities* (NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD, SIT, or SUSS (UniSIM)) in Singapore;
• Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 2 issued by MPA and other authority recognised by MPA;
• *Applicants with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Preference will be given to those with at least two (2) years of relevant working experience in marine or offshore industry from private or public sectors.
