Communicate Effectively as a Team Leader at the Workplace – for Early Childhood (EC) and Early Intervention (EI) Leaders
About This Course
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
• Apply role of a leader to promote effective communication among employees.
• Communicate organisational communication policies and other work-related information to staff utilizing communication channels.
• Monitor staff’s compliance with organisational communication policies and other work-related information.
• Evaluate gaps and barriers in workplace communications based on determined benchmarks.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of channel communications.
Centre leaders will benefit from being able to devise communication plans incorporating appropriate strategies, tools and methods. They will ensure that the plans are aligned with organisational goals and objectives and will overcome barriers to communication. Leaders will then learn to implement the communication plans. They will be able to apply facilitation techniques to ensure staff comply with the plans and to address any instances of non-compliance. Finally, leaders will evaluate effectiveness of plans and rectify any deficiencies.
This course is suitable for intermediate and advanced learners.
The competencies gained will enable leaders to manage their centres more efficiently. These competencies will allow middle level managers to aim for promotion to senior positions. The skills and knowledge are also transferrable to other sectors.

Entry Requirements
Learners are expected to have a minimum of:
• Upper secondary level education
• 2 - 3 years working experience
• Able to read, write, speak and listen to English at WSQ WPL level 5
• Able to manipulate numbers at WSQ WPN level 5
