About This Course

Engaging in regular physical activities (PA) can boost a senior’s physical and mental health significantly. A senior can continue to maintain functional independence and enjoy good quality of life when he/she stays physically active. It is important to prevent and reduce risks when conducting PA for seniors. An unsafe physical activity routine may lead to injuries, falls and more stress among seniors. Thus, the aim of this short course is to equip learners with the relevant knowledge & skills which will empower them to conduct a safe physical activity routine for seniors.

Objectives
At the end of this short course, learners will be able to:
(i) describe and conduct frailty assessment
(ii) describe and conduct fall assessment
(iii) apply exercise recommendations for frail and pre-frail seniors
(iv) implement safety guidelines when conducting physical activities for seniors.
