What You'll Learn
With impending resource depletion and climate change issues, it is imperative for process industries to transform and adapt to a more efficient and sustainable operating mode. Resource conservation and waste minimization are some of the greatest current concerns for chemical process industries.
In this course, students will learn about the concept of Circular vs Linear Economy, concepts of natural cycles of matters, and concepts of Industrial symbiosis and examples. They will also introduced to Circular Business and Business Transformation as well as basic principles and applications of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
In this course, students will have the opportunity to apply the LCA framework on a sample case study, demonstrating how LCA can be used to fairly evaluate and compare the environmental impact of various options in packaging and treatment of a given product.
