Basic Textile and Fabric Care
About This Course
This course is primarily designed for the Assistant Merchandiser and Sales Associates in the Textile & Fashion industry. This course provides an overview on fiber properties, fabric identification and care for fabric. It is highly recommended for learner who is interested to know more about fabrics and how to care for them. Participants will experience active learning through fabric identification and stain removal.
What You'll Learn
Interpret various types of fabric qualities based on industry norms.
Interpret care symbols based on industry norms.
Advise care for garment with reference to care label instructions.
Apply stain removal techniques for common stains.
Check to ensure stain is removed according to industry practices.
Take further actions for non-conformance.
Entry Requirements
Local:
• Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE “N” Level
or its equivalent.
International:
• IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL iBT score 32.
• High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘N’ Levels with
minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, including English
and Mathematics.
• ALL Students are required to have basic computing skills -
i.e., able to turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag, and
drop files, use online search engines for research; and be
a competent user of Microsoft Office.
