About This Course
Cultural competence involves not only skills and knowledge – it also requires practitioners to be cognizant of what frames and underlies their competencies in engaging with families and their culture.
This course will introduce participants to useful ideas, positions and lenses that can help frame a more culturally responsive practice.

Participants will be able to:
1. Review how identity development and self-concept is influenced by culture;
2. Apply onto-ethico-epistemological lens and lenticular lens vis-à-vis identity, race and ethnicity;
