About This Course
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
(i) understand the legal and factual nature of aircraft assets as movable, tangible, personal, possessory property which are able to cross borders;
(ii) have a working knowledge of title financing and the taking and perfection of collateral used to secure the liabilities of borrowers under aircraft financing;
(iii) understand the different players in the aircraft financing market and the sources of capital (including banks, capital markets, government supported financings, aircraft lessors etc.);
(iv) be familiar with and understand the structure and terms of an aircraft loan agreement and the special features of an aircraft financing deal;
(v) have a working knowledge of Leasing/Lessors, Lease Financing and the differences with Mortgage Financing;
(vi) have a working knowledge of airline debt restructuring processes; and
(vii) know about international treaties that unify and harmonize some of the legal rules and issues affecting aircraft financing transactions across jurisdictions, with an in-depth study of the Cape Town Convention and Protocol on Matters Specific to Aircraft Objects.
