About This Course
This course is designed for baking beginners and enthusiasts who wish to acquire industry relevant baking skills and techniques in making cream and ganache cakes. Learners will learn the various aeration techniques used for different cake and pastry products. Learners will also acquire cake assembly and finishing techniques.

Upon completion of this unit, learners will attain knowledge and skills in the following areas:
1. Understand the mixing and baking techniques for cakes
2. Understand the characteristics of different cream, glazes or toppings for cakes
3. Master the techniques to bake the cakes
4. Master the preparation of various buttercream fillings
5. Master basic creaming, folding, glazing, pipping techniques to garnish a cake
6. Learn to assemble and present the finished products
7. Develop skills to troubleshoot common baking and assembly issues.
