Navigate through Ethical and Legal Challenges in Healthcare
The Essential Topics in Clinical Ethics (ETCE) course is an intermediate-level short course intended primarily for those involved in clinical ethics committee (CEC) work as well as healthcare practitioners in general.
This course consists of two parts :
Part 1 : Ethical Reasoning, Ethical Guidance and Relationship with Healthcare Professionals
Part 2 : Ethics and Law in Defensive Medicine and Therapeutic Innovations
What You'll Learn
Learners will develop their understanding of ethical issues in healthcare practice, acquire practical skills on analysing those issues, and consider approaches to addressing them.
The learning objectives for the two parts are :
– for Part 1, to understand the principles-based approach to addressing ethical issues in healthcare practice, and the place of ethics and law in professional practice.
– for Part 2, to understand the relevant health laws and the common ethical and legal issues faced by healthcare practitioners with regard to defensive medicine and therapeutic innovations.
The learning objectives for the two parts are :
