Economics for Business
About This Course
This Module is part of the Diploma in Accounting and Corporate Secretarial Practice, Modular Certificate in Business Fundamentals.
This module enables students to understand the general economic environment within which businesses operate. Students will learn to explain consumer demand, producer costs, markets and competitions as well as the impact these interlocking decisions have on resource allocation and profit maximisation.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
At least three (3) ‘O’ Level passes in the following subjects:
English Language (EL1 or EL2) Grade 1 – 7
Mathematics Grade 1 – 6
One (1) relevant subject Grade 1 – 6 and at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Higher Nitec
• GPA ≥ 2.0 OR
• GPA ≥ 1.5 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Nitec
• GPA ≥ 3.5 OR
• GPA ≥ 3.0 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Higher Nitec in Technology/ Services
• GPA ≥ 2.0 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Nitec in Technology/ Services
• GPA ≥ 3.5 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ)
• Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience AND Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least two (2) years of relevant working exp
