• Explain the working relationship between media and businesses;
• Analyse and understand audience consumption patterns across media platforms;
• Analyse and use data to gain insights and develop ideas;
• Apply oral and written communication skills to present information with clarity, coherence and consistency;
• Produce content in different formats (text, video, sound, and visuals) for various media platforms to engage target audience in a sustained manner;
• Produce a story demonstrating information gathering, interviewing skills and effective writing;
• Plan, execute and evaluate an integrated communications campaign
• Apply the sustainability communications planning process and principles to develop sound communication strategy and plan for a business’ sustainability efforts
• Demonstrate the professional and ethical behaviour expected of a communication professional; and
• Develop innovative and entrepreneurial mindset in communication and media.

What You'll Learn

The Diploma in Digital Media and Communication aims to is to develop competent, skilled and resilient manpower in support of the evolving media and communication landscape. It aims to equip students with the competitive advantage of understanding communication through the lenses of business strategies, developing technology, data-driven analysis and corporate sustainability.

In addition, the course seeks to equip them with analytical and problem-solving skills for application in digital and global business contexts.

Entry Requirements

'O' Levels
• At least three (3) ‘O’ Level passes in the following subjects:
English Language (EL1 or EL2) Grade 1 – 7
Mathematics Grade 1 – 6
One (1) relevant subject Grade 1 – 6
• and at least one (1) year relevant work experience

Higher Nitec
• GPA ≥ 2.0
OR
• GPA ≥ 1.5 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience

Nitec
• GPA ≥ 3.5
OR
• GPA ≥ 3.0 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience

Higher Nitec in Technology/ Services
• GPA ≥ 2.0 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience

Nitec in Technology/ Services
• GPA ≥ 3.5 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience

Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ)
• Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience AND Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA
