About This Course
The programme is offered as an industry certification-based train and place program in Green and Sustainable Data Centre domain sector in collaboration with DCD Academy and Singtel’s Nxera. This program will prepare the trainees with essential Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills such as Computer Operating System, Computer Hardware and Server System Management and fundamental skills such as Data Center Engineering Operations and Green and Sustainable Data Centre technologies.
What You'll Learn
By the end of the programme, participants will be able to:
• Describe key business concepts and design principles of Data Centres
• Identify the types and sub-systems of Data Centres
• Identify the roles of key stakeholders within the Data Centre ecosystem
• Describe the concepts of DC Planning, Design, Build, Operate (PDBO)
• Describe how Linux operating system powers the cloud environment
• Apply knowledge on installation, managing and troubleshooting servers
• Configure and troubleshoot PC, mobile, IoT devices, operating system and hardware
• Describe the operations, physical infrastructure, electrical fundamentals and datacentre batteries and generators of Data Centre
• Apply knowledge on mechanical and electrical engineering concepts in the Data Centre operations.
• Describe Energy usage in a Data Centre and key operations concepts
• Describe how to design and plan for sustainability in the Data Centre
• Describe Data Centre sustainability operational practices
