About This Course

Phase 2 of the Digital Sustainability Programme (Twin Transition) equips enterprises with practical skills to integrate digital technologies and sustainability, driving sustainable business outcomes. This 4-day Executive Education course focuses on implementers—technology and functional practitioners—enabling them to co-create opportunities for sustainable digitalization and leverage digital technology for Environmental, Social and Governance(ESG) goals and innovative products.



Participants will learn to:



- Develop and implement digital sustainability strategies.

- Incorporate sustainability concept in product development and software engineering

- Manage digital assets and procurement with sustainability criteria.



The course covers six topics which will develop these capabilities:



- Craft and align strategies with sustainability benchmarks.

- Apply design & product principles emphasizing lifecycle and circularity.

- Evaluate suppliers and integrate ESG considerations into IT sourcing.

- Optimize digital asset lifecycle for energy efficiency and waste reduction.

- Build and deploy software solutions with reduced environmental footprints.

- Design sustainable business models and establish governance frameworks powered by digital technologies

What You'll Learn

Learning Outcome 1: Review and evaluate best practices and concepts in digital sustainability trends to set foundation for development of digital sustainability strategy

Learning Outcome 2: Incorporate sustainability for new value creation and apply to operational product development

Learning Outcome 3: Evaluate sustainable practices across the Information Technology (IT) procurement value chain to enhance sustainable technology management.

Learning Outcome 4: Evaluate IT hardware for carbon emissions to optimize energy use and reduce wastage

Learning Outcome 5: Review and integrate various software design and architecture patterns, coding practices, infrastructure and deployment models, and data lifecycle management strategies

Learning Outcome 6: Build capabilities to adopt levers for digital sustainability supported by strong governance



This is the second course in the NUS-ISS Sustainability Series designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to drive digital sustainability in their organizations.

Entry Requirements

Participants are encouraged to complete the prerequisite course, Digital Sustainability for Strategic Leaders, or an equivalent course, prior to attending this course.
