Analog Electronics
About This Course
The Part-Time Diploma in Engineering (Microelectronics & Semiconductor Technology) (DEMST) focuses on the principles and applications of microelectronics and semiconductor technology that is applied in the areas of Integrated Circuit (IC) design, wafer fabrication and testing. It equips current electronics technicians, assistant engineers, or participants with equivalent roles with the knowledge and skills required to undertake new roles that include microelectronics process engineer, semiconductor device engineer, test and validation engineer, and quality engineer in the semiconductor and consumer electronics industries.
What You'll Learn
Further, the course includes specialized training in packaging and IC testing. Participants will evaluate and implement testing procedures, using automated test equipment to perform functional and parametric tests. Emphasis is also placed on quality, reliability, yield improvement, defect and failure analysis, and manufacturing excellence. Participants will analyze manufacturing processes, conduct defect analysis, and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Awareness of the positive and negative impact of semiconductor to the environment is also discussed.
