About This Course
A competent individual must be able to successfully perform the following in accordance with organizational procedures:
1) Identify the fundamentals of CAM in manufacturing environment.
2) List the different types of manufacturing data.
3) Identify and create Program, Tool, Geometry and Method objects.
4) Identify and interpret machining parameters and strategies.
5) Perform 2D tool path generation using objects for 3-axis CNC machining.
6 ) Perform 3D tool path generation using objects for 3-axis CNC machining.
7) Perform 3D tool path generation using objects for multi-axis CNC machining.
8) Apply CAM techniques for precision components, moulding inserts, aerospace and oil & gas applications.
9) Evaluate and explain the concept of tool path verification.
10) Post process tool path data to generate machine specific codes.

4) Post Processing:
- Selection of type of machine tool

Entry Requirements
Candidates with ITE Nitec / Higher Nitec / NTC-2 / WSQ Advanced Certificate or equivalent qualifications with at least four years of relevant experience in the manufacturing/precision engineering industries.
