About This Course
A competent individual must be able to successfully perform the following in accordance with organizational procedures:
1) Perform calculations of forces and construction of free body diagrams
2) Calculate the resultant of a concurrent force system
3) Determine the reaction and resultant of an equilibrium system
4) Determine frictional force on two contacting surfaces
5) Determine the centroid and area moment of inertia of different cross-sections
6) Calculate stresses in simple structure
7) Use shear force diagram and bending moment diagram to determine the size of a structural member of a given material

Entry Requirements
Candidates with ITE Nitec / Higher Nitec / NTC-2 / WSQ Advanced Certificate or equivalent qualifications with at least four years of relevant experience in the manufacturing/precision engineering industries.
