Countering Terrorism: Threats, Responses, Intelligence and Decision-Making (Synchronous e-learning)

About This Course

The objective of this course is to impart an applied framework for participants to fit in the respective security capabilities, requirements, and standards of their organisations after they complete this course.

By the end of the course, participants will gain significant knowledge and understanding, in four key areas, for application to their security-related work:

1. Threat-side knowledge and assessment in relation to
(i) the nature of terrorism;
(ii) current and future terrorist actors; and
(iii) current and future attack trends.

2. Impact-side appreciation of how terrorism affects the social, business, and political stability of our country and why all security personnel play a key role in anti- and counter- terrorism.

3. Response-side strategies and decision-making in relation to
(i) the improvement and maintenance of security measures,;
(ii) threat reduction/risk mitigation during an actual attack; and
(iii) post-threat exploitation of success.

4. The application of information in supporting decision-making in respect to security planning and execution in the larger context of anti- and counter- terrorism.
