About This Course

The chair fitness instructor course is focused on equipping fitness trainers with a variety of fitness teaching skills to cater for the different populations in Singapore, especially, the senior population. Chair fitness workouts are low-impact form of exercises suitable for seniors, individuals with limited mobility, and/or recovery from injury.

What You'll Learn

At the end of the class, participants will be able to

• Develop and conduct chair fitness routines that cater to various fitness levels.
• Incorporate bodyweight / strengthening exercises to enhance muscular fitness.
• Ensure safe and effective movement patterns with joint or mobility limitations.
• Use music to maintain rhythm and motivate participants throughout the workouts.
• Adapt exercises for special populations, including seniors, individuals with chronic conditions, and/or individuals with disabilities.
• Create a positive and inclusive class environment that fosters participation and motivation.

Entry Requirements

As this is a intermediate course, participants should possess at least a Basic Exercise Science certificate from Republic Polytechnic or a Personal Trainer certificate.
