About This Course
The Diploma (Conversion) in Computer Networking & Cloud Computing aims to re-skill graduates with diplomas (and above) from different disciplines, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required to undertake new roles, such as Associate Network Engineer and Associate Infrastructure Engineer, in the Information Communication Technology(ICT) industries. The Diploma (Conversion) in Computer Networking & Cloud Computing covers topics relevant to the setup and administration of both on-premises and cloud-based IT Network and Systems.
What You'll Learn
• Understand the principles, concepts, and techniques involved in managing IT networks and servers.
• Comprehend data communication concepts and the configuration of computer network equipment such as routers and switches in Local Area Networks (LANs).
• Apply knowledge of LAN switching technologies and Wide Area Network (WAN) communication protocols and configurations.
• Develop essential network control and troubleshooting skills.
• Grasp Cloud concepts and the core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support provided by Cloud Computing Service Providers.
• Use the Linux Operating System effectively, focusing on basic skills such as using the command line, editing text files, managing users and groups, and configuring the network.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
(i) Any diploma from a polytechnic* in Singapore
(ii) Any degree from a university** in Singapore
* NYP, NP, RP, SP, or TP
** NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD (candidates with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Foreign equivalent qualifications or other qualifications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
