About This Course
The knowledge and application covered in Computer Networking are:
o Covers routing concepts and how routers determine the best path using OSPF.
o Develop skill in configuring and troubleshooting of IP static routes, default routes and OSPF.
o Understanding network security concepts and common types of network attacks.
o Securing networks using access control list (ACL) and network address translational (NAT).
o Troubleshoot network issues using systematic approaches and tools.
o Understand WLAN concepts, including technology, standards, and security mechanisms.
o Equipping participants with technical skills in configuring and troubleshooting WLAN, including VLAN interfaces, DHCP servers, and WPA2 Enterprise authentication.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following entry requirements:
(i) Any diploma from a polytechnic* in Singapore
(ii) Any degree from a university** in Singapore
* NYP, NP, RP, SP, or TP
** NTU, NUS, SIT, SMU, SUSS, or SUTD (candidates with degrees from other universities are considered on a case-by-case basis)
Foreign equivalent qualifications or other qualifications will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test.
