Company and Workforce Transformation – Optimisation Essentials for Practice (Classroom and Asynchronous e-learning)
About This Course
Many sectors have a need to undertake projects that require modelling of their processes and consequent maximisation / minimisation of related objective functions. Many of these may need to be studied with constraints on the processes. Practitioners assigned to handle such projects may be unable to execute the projects effectively due to lack of knowledge and confidence in applying essential optimisation or programming skills to explore or seek solutions in a technically methodical manner. This course seeks to equip such practitioners with knowledge and skills in basic mathematical modelling and generative AI-based code generation for optimisation, with the specific intent to develop confidence to seek meaningful solutions in such projects.
What You'll Learn
1) formulate, solve, and interpret optimisation problems such as Linear Programming and Integer Programming problems for informed decision-making in industry settings;
2) leverage on Generative AI tools to enhance the optimisation process, including transforming formulated models into executable code;
3) analyse optimisation results, gain process insights, and make critical decisions based on the outcomes of applying optimisation techniques to real-world problems.
Entry Requirements
At least 2 years of work experience in related area. GCE ‘A’ level with pass in English & Mathematics. Participants will need to bring in their own laptops, with Windows OS, for the course.
