About This Course

This course dovetails the updated NEL Framework 2022 and NEL Educators’ Guide for Language and Literacy to provide curriculum leaders and preschool educators with key ideas of quality English language and literacy (ELL) instruction for four- to six-year-old children. Participants will explore how to cater to diverse learning needs of children in the area of ELL learning and development.

What You'll Learn

Learners will be able to:
• Discuss the key goals for building children’s foundation in English language and literacy (ELL).
• Understand and observe for the foundational ELL knowledge, skills and dispositions for 4- to 6-year-old children
• Discuss teaching strategies for quality ELL instruction for 4- to 6-year-old children.
• Plan to support diverse learning needs of children in ELL learning and development, based on child observations, especially for children who need additional help.
