About This Course
1. Apply the competencies and attitudes of an outdoor leader to implement outdoor experiences, ensuring sound safety management, effective facilitation of students’ learning and development, care for the environment, and adherence to industry standards.
2. Apply the competencies and attitudes of an experiential educator to instruct and facilitate group development and participants’ learning about self, community, and environment.
3. Apply the competencies and attitudes of an outdoor program designer to design and operationalize effective centre-based programmes, ensuring sound application of program design principles, efficient resource management, and adherence to industry standards.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
‘O’ Levels
• At least three (3) ‘O’ Level passes in the following subjects:
English Language (EL1 or EL2) Grade 1 – 7
Mathematics Grade 1 – 6
One (1) relevant subject Grade 1 – 6
• and at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Higher Nitec
• GPA ≥ 2.0 OR
• GPA ≥ 1.5 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Nitec
• GPA ≥ 3.5 OR
• GPA ≥ 3.0 AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience
Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ)
• Relevant WSQ Advanced Certificate (or higher) AND at least one (1) year relevant work experience AND Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy SOA and Workplace Numeracy SOA
• Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least two (2) years of relevant working experience. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted will have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. RP reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
