About This Course

MOU between Nanyang Polytechnic, Yellow Ribbon Singapore (YRSG) and Singapore Precision Engineering Technology & Association (SPETA) have been signed.
SPETA and YRSG have approached Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Engineering to curate a training programme in WSQ Advanced Certificate in Precision Engineering (WSQ ACPE) level to train the inmates in Precision Engineering (PE) skills.

This training programme will enhance the employability for the inmates for deployment as trained professionals and re-integration back into society. It will also provide progression pathway to the WSQ Diploma in Precision Engineering (Master Craftsman Skills) course and to meet the demand of trained craftsman for the PE companies.

The WSQ Advanced Certificate in Precision Engineering will also be offered for public run to train technicians for the manufacturing & PE sectors.

What You'll Learn

This is a change to an existing qualification. Currently, 3 modules [Apply 3D Computer Modelling (PE SF), Apply CNC Machining Technology (PE SF) and Apply Manufacturing Technology (PE SF)] that form part of WSQ Advanced Certificate in Precision Engineering are currently offered to the public as standalone modular courses and also to WSP participants prior to commencement of WSQ Diploma in Precision Engineering (Master Craftsman Skills)) programme. WSP participants’ completion of the 3 mentioned modules plus WSQ Diploma in Precision Engineering (Master Craftsman Skills) would lead to the attainment of Work-Study Diploma (WSQ Diploma in Precision Engineering (Master Craftsman Skills)) programme.

2 modules Apply Basic Metrology and Apply Fundamentals of QA are new modules to be offered.

ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) and Numeracy Level 5; OR
GCE 'N' pass in English and Mathematics; OR
NTC2/Nitec in technical related trades or equivalent
