This course is part of Specialist Diploma in Visual Effects
This course consists of 150 hours of training and the following modules:
1) Procedural Mesh Creation (30 Hours)
2) Texturing Techniques and UV Unwrapping (30 Hours)
3) Shader Development for Photorealism (30 Hours)
4) Assets Creation Project (60 Hours)
What You'll Learn
1. Master texturing techniques and UV unwrapping to accurately place and manipulate textures on 3D models, including exporting textures for use across different media platforms like games, animation, AR, and VR.
2. Acquire skills in shader development for photorealistic visual effects, including surface layering and lighting, to create realistic materials that enhance visual narratives.
3. Gain hands-on experience in the creation of procedural assets, focusing on scalable, modifiable models that can be quickly adjusted to meet diverse project requirements.
4. Develop technical and creative competencies, including 3D modeling, surfacing, texturing, digital lighting, and concept creation, to create immersive and engaging visual effects for varied media applications.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have a related qualification (minimum a diploma from a local polytechnic, ITE, or other IHLs) in one of these areas – Animation, Motion Graphics, Visual Effects, Media Production, Film, Art or Design. Applicants with working experience in the areas of relevance as mentioned above are preferred.
ii. Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on:
a. Evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience; OR
b. Supporting evidence of competency readiness.
Note: All candidates are required to attend proficiency assessment / interview.
