WSQ Diploma in Precision Engineering (Master Craftsman Skills)
About This Course
The PeMC programme (a combination of WSP, Diploma and Specialist Diploma) is part of the Precision Engineering Vocational Continuing Education and Training initiative. The aim of the PEVC initiative is to develop deeply-skilled Master Craftsmen capable of supporting high-end manufacturing activities within their companies and to build internal capabilities for their companies to retain and enhance their competitiveness.
Through the creation of a class of Master Craftsmen, the PEVC initiative will result in a career progression pathway for the highly skilled professionals in the precision engineering industry, thereby enhancing the attraction and retention of skilled craftsmen the industry needs.
The PeMC programme is also part of the PE Productivity Roadmap endorsed by the National Productivity and Continuing Education Council (NPCEC) and strongly supported by EDB, ESG and WSG. The PeMC programme has a strong emphasis on technical skills training as well as critical core skills needed for master craftsmen in the industry. Additionally, participants will learn important productivity and pedagogical concepts to enable them to be technical experts, shop floor leaders and trainers for the next generation of PE workforce.
Finally, the PeMC programme has been accredited by AHK Singapore and IHK Munich to be of the same standard and rigour as that of the equivalent programmes for producing and upskilling master craftsmen in Germany. The programme has created and sustained a brand that NYP would like to continue nurturing by continuing with the current names of the individual courses under the PeMC programme.
The PeMC programme (WSQ Diploma) has been offered for public run since 2012 to train PMETs for the manufacturing & precision engineering sectors. There are no similar PeMC programme (WSQ Diploma) available by other training providers.
