About This Course

The module Good Dispensing Practice (part of PDC2 of Advanced Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences) offers a training duration of 45 hours. This module will train learners on how to process prescriptions or medication orders (M4)

What You'll Learn

This module aims to train participants to perform as future dispensary leads in the pharmacy services. Relevant sections from the Poisons Act, Medicines Act and the Misuse of Drugs Act will be covered to refresh participants in the legal and ethical aspects of dispensing prescriptions. They will also learn how to implement good dispensing standards and guidelines, execute institution protocol for management of dispensing errors and be equipped with skills to achieve quality customer service as well as proficiency in the maintenance of records and equipment in a pharmacy.

Entry Requirements

The minimum entry requirement is:

Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science(s)/ Pharmacy Science from a local polytechnic, ITE, or other IHLs.

For participants who do not hold the aforementioned qualification, they must possess a diploma, passed the Certified Pharmacy Technician Course (CPTC) conducted by the Pharmaceutical Society of Singapore (PSS) and have at least 2 years of relevant working experience (i.e. working in a pharmacy as a pharmacy assistant / pharmacy technician)

Applicants who do not have the necessary educational qualifications but have substantial relevant working experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
