What You'll Learn
• LO1. Apply principles of sound and distinguishment between sound qualities to scope the sound requirements for a mixing project
• LO2. Use sound editing software to prepare audio files for the mixing project by standardising their technical formats
• LO3. Complete the mixing of different sound elements from different sources using appropriate techniques to achieve the desired soundtrack
• LO4. Manipulate the volume of different sound elements in the mixed track to enhance the smoothness of transitions
• LO5. Modify the sonic characteristics of the mixed track to improve the quality of the mixing
Entry Requirements
Entry Requirements
• Proficiency with the English language at minimally GCE N(A) Level or Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 5 or equivalent qualifications*
• Possess an understanding of the composition and arrangement requirements for soundtracks in their respective industries.
*Learners without the right WPL or equivalent qualifications can be accepted if they have at least 3 years of relevant working experience in art-related roles, subject to the MR’s approval.
