About This Course
The MBCT programme was originally designed to help people who suffer from repeated bouts of depression, but is increasingly recognised as a way that anyone can use to deal more skilfully with the stresses and strains of daily living. It is for those interested in an opportunity to learn a new way of relating to unwanted thoughts and feelings and powerful skills for responding to them in an intentional and skilful manner. The skills acquired will help participants understand and improve their overall wellness, and improve quality of life.
What You'll Learn
The MBCT 8-week course combines the idea of cognitive therapy with mindfulness meditative practices and attitudes based on the cultivation of mindfulness. It can help people with chronic unhappiness/depressive activity and to reduce cravings for substances that people are addicted to. MBCT was developed by Zindel Segal, Mark Williams and John Teasdale, based on Jon Kabat-Zinn's MBSR program. This course is for anyone interested in applying MBCT techniques to improve his/her mental well-being.
