About This Course
The course aims to introduce seniors to the guzheng, helping them learn basic playing techniques and develop an appreciation for Chinese music, while providing an enjoyable and engaging experience in learning a new musical instrument.
What You'll Learn
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
-Understand the history, structure, and tuning of the guzheng
-Demonstrate correct posture and fingernail technique
-Play basic techniques: 勾, 抹, 托
-Read simple music notation (key, time signature, note values)
-Apply hand positioning, articulation, and finger control
-Perform beginner-level exam pieces with proper speed, tone, and expression
-Observe stage etiquette and perform confidently in recitals
