Through this course, learners will be equipped with the competency to:
1. Explain sustainability and the interconnectedness between environmental, social, and economic dimensions.
2. Describe key sustainability challenges, solutions, and reporting frameworks.
3. Embrace innovation for sustainability, leading to the development of new products, services, and business models that are better aligned with the needs and values of customers.
This is a Core Module for the Chartered Engineer (SG) in Sustainability Sector Certification Programme (CEng (Sustainability))

Businesses today recognise the importance of embracing sustainability. Beyond being environmentally conscious, it is about effectively managing risks, meeting evolving consumer expectations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and capitalising on untapped business value. Integrating sustainability practices and strategies can help secure the long-term viability of the business while contributing to a more sustainable future.
Through this 1-day course, participants will acquire the vocabulary to effectively discuss sustainability topics with stakeholders both within and outside of the organisation. They would develop the capacity to appreciate key sustainability challenges and make the connection between the environment, society, and the economy, so that trade-offs are considered as part of decision-making. This course will inspire and empower the participant to propose change, create impact and act for sustainability in their professional careers and in their personal lives.
