Neonatal Resuscitation for Paramedics
About This Course
Neonatal emergencies in the prehospital setting are rare—but when they occur, they demand rapid, skilled intervention in environments that are often unpredictable and resource-limited.
This 2-day programme is designed specifically for Paramedics, equipping them with the clinical competence, team-based communication skills, and decision-making confidence to manage neonatal resuscitation effectively in the field.
Developed and delivered by experienced paramedics, this workshop bridges current neonatal resuscitation guidelines with operational challenges. Through targeted skill refinement and immersive team-based simulations, participants will build the capability and assurance to deliver safe, timely, and coordinated care for both premature and full-term newborns in distress.
What You'll Learn
1. Recognise clinical presentations of a neonate in distress.
2. Perform essential resuscitation techniques using neonatal assessment frameworks and resuscitation algorithms.
3. Demonstrate clear, respectful and effective communication during the resuscitation process.
