Perform Ultrasonic Inspection (Advanced)
About This Course
This course covers all theory aspects of the Ultrasonic Testing method and provides “hands-on” practical experience and so that will fulfil and improve the performance of learners to meet the standard requirements towards quality.
What You'll Learn
Furthermore, the candidate shall be capable of performing the following actions:
1. Select the specific technique for the ultrasonic testing method to be used;
2. Define the advantages and limitations of application of the ultrasonic testing method;
3. Translate codes, standards, specifications, and procedures into instructions adapted to the actual working conditions;
4. Set up and verify equipment settings for ultrasonic testing;
5. Perform and supervise ultrasonic tests;
6. Interpret and evaluate results according to applicable standards, codes, specifications or procedures; (Accept or reject relevant indications)
7. Provide guidance and supervision for inspectional personnel; (Establish and maintain method report sheets)
8. Compile, review and report the results of ultrasonic testing; (signed report)
9. Ensure overall quality and safety of all above inspection related tasks.

Entry Requirements
Learners
• Be able to apply the principles of ultrasonic sound waves and piezo electric effect.
• Have minimum 9 months experience in QA/QC, Welding, NDT or fabrication works.
• Be able to handle common workshop hand tools.
• Be able to interpret work instructions, service manuals and data sheets.
• Have basic PC literacy.
• Be able to listen, read, write and speak English at a proficiency level (WPL level 4).
• Be able to apply the code and standards requirements.
• Be able to apply safety practices in working environment.
