What You'll Learn
Learners are equipped to manage patients with traumatic injuries and acute medical conditions across the full continuum of care, from initial pre-hospital assessment and stabilisation to the delivery of definitive treatment. Learning is reinforced through clinical placement on the 995-ambulance, where learners apply their knowledge and skills in real world emergency settings under professional supervision.
Beyond individual patient care, the programme prepares learners to respond effectively to critical incidents, building confidence in clinical decision making, team coordination, and organisational response from initial activation through recovery and post incident evaluation.
Upon completion of the programme, learners will demonstrate the following course competencies:
1 Manage the continuum of care for injured patients, from prehospital stabilisation at the scene to the provision of definitive treatment.
2 Manage the continuum of care for patients with acute medical conditions, from initial presentation through to the provision of definitive treatment.
3 Manage the continuum of response for organisations and teams facing critical incidents, from initial assessment and decision making through to recovery and post crisis evaluation.
